Topoloveni Concentrated Plum Spread - a healthy
sweet (product with Protected Geographical Indication)
Nutritional qualities: because of the traditional production process (concentration 5:1 in bain-marie system - indirect heat, at max. 68 degrees Celsius), Topoloveni Concentrated Plum Spread was certified by The National Institute for Food Research as a functional food, it has a rich content in food fibers (5,79 %) and natural pectic substances.
100g of finished product is made of 500g fresh fruits.
Prof. Phd. Gheorghe Mencinicopschi, the director of The National Institute for Food Research, recommends Topoloveni Concentrated Plum Spread as a healthy sweet, which has beneficial effects on human health:
- It prevents the apparition of diabetes type 2 (because of its low glicemic index, 39/100g), atherosclerosis, cardio-vascular diseases, neuro-vascular diseases, some types of cancer (most in colon cancer), Parkinson and Alzheimer diseases.
- It helps in losing weight because of its low energetic value (214kcal/100g) and of its rich content of vitamins and minerals which offers to our body the necessary of NATURAL vitamins and minerals.
- A very important quality of this product is that it contains boron (3,5 mg/100 g); boron is very important for the human body because it prevents osteoporosis and there are very few aliments that can give the possibility for the human body to assimilate boron. Boron interacts with the metabolism of calcium, magnesium and vitamin D, all these elements are very important for the bones health.
