In this house the epigrammatist Cincinat Pavelescu spent the last five years of his life. In 1908 he became the first president of the Romanian Writers’ Society and in 1927 he was awarded The National Prize for Poetry. He settled in Braşov in 1929 and founded here the magazine called "Literary and artistic Braşov" (1931-1935), the editorial board of which he moved into his own home. At that time, his fame was mainly due to his talent as an epigram writer. He would participate in literary meetings and bohemian reunions, where he charmed the audience with his extraordinary ease of improvising quatrains, sprinkled with a delicious sense of humour and fine irony targeted at the most diverse characters and stories in the literary and artistic, political or legal environment.
